Cadbury started when John Cadbury opened a grocer’s shop at 93 Bull Street, Birmingham. Among other things, he sold cocoa and drinking chocolate, which he prepared himself using a mortar and pestle. It is now manufactured in more than 15 countries around the world.
I decided to create a visual system for Cadbury Dairy Milk in Japan, where it is virtually non-existent. I picked three of the things Japan is most famous for – Cherry Blossoms (Sakura), Green Tea (Matcha) and Seaweed.
I researched on dairy milk packaging in other countries, font pairing trials and various colour combinations. Finally I created packaging graphics for the 3 chosen flavours in 2 variations ( dual colour background & single Cadbury purple background).
