Amidst the sea of change that is transforming the fashion industry as we know it, Amazon’s arrival into the luxury market is set to be one of its biggest waves. Announced earlier this week, the online conglomerate has launched its own digital platform for luxury fashion, dubbed Luxury Stores.
Now Roland Mouret has become the second launch partner and first independent British brand within Luxury Stores at Amazon. Mouret has been a long term advocate of e-commerce and was one of the first designers to welcome online luxury shopping 20 years ago.
Launched yesterday, a selection of pieces from Mouret’s Pre-fall 2020 collection and a series of online exclusives will be available within Luxury Stores. Continuing with Mouret’s commitment to sustainability and slower-paced fashion, the pieces will be produced in limited qualities. Alongside this, Mouret has worked with London-based CGI artist Ondrej Zunka to create a “No Show”, using CGI for a “no-model, no-location, no-waste fashion show.”
“Amazon is the next frontier for the future of luxury fashion online, says the designer. “The time is right.”
