i’ve been seeing these quite amazing patchwork window panels with a rather 1970’s vibe around the internet world a lot lately and low and behold i stumbled upon a beautiful design source — thompson street studio. designer Kiva Motnyk founded Thompson street studio in 2014 as an outlet for her love of textiles and dedication to making objects created with hand-made authenticity. She splits her time between her studio in Soho, NYC, and her home in the Catskill Mountains, creating experimental textiles and objects imbued with authenticity and longevity. her gorgeous collections are handmade works of art that often double as useful home textiles like quilts and window panels — or just hang them on your walls. some are created from pieced together, natural indigo-dyed cotton, repurposed mixed linen remnants, and hand quilting. some prints she creates with hand-carved woodblocks, hand-printed on 100% cotton and the finished visual effect is stunning. for more inspiration from kiva, visit her studio website and follow along on instagram at @thompsonstreetstudio.
