Palace’s list of collaborators is now so extensive that it’s probably easier to think of brands they haven’t worked with, rather than have. From Stella Artois, Polo Ralph Lauren, and Arc’teryx, to Calvin Klein, Mercedes-AMG, and Rapha, the never-ending list reads like a who’s who of what I kinda need in my wardrobe.

That being said, Palace’s latest link-up follows an unusually quiet period for the brand and sees the London label head to the west coast of the US to team up with cult Los Angeles label Jimmy’z for a collection of summer-infused apparel, which merges the former’s addiction for collaboration with the latter’s surf-inspired aesthetic.

Founded by surfer and painter Jim Ganzer in 1984, Jimmy’z became the surfer’s mecca during the late eighties thanks to its idyllic Malibu Beach setting, and was often clad with famous musicians, artists and skaters alike.

After a hiatus in the late nineties, Jimmy’z the brand – which when it came to apparel became renowned mostly for its colorful range of everyday apparel – relaunched back in late 2011 and continues to produce pieces for its mainline collection to this day.

Slated to drop online on June 3, its collaboration with Palace explores the style and culture that surrounded Jimmy’z during its heyday and updates these looks with Palace distinctive eye, including velcro-closure shorts, short-sleeved shirts, cotton bombers, and tees.

Palace x Jimmy’z arrives accompanied by the fifth instalment of the London label’s Summer 2022 collection which includes a selection of apparel, footwear, homeware and, of course, a Rubik’s cube.
