Named for the Mexican city perched on towering heights at 8,730 ft., Martin Brattrud’s Toluca Chair is sculpted and majestic, just like the nearby mountains of its namesake.

Designer Chris Adamick conceived of Toluca within the parameters of a bold conceit: “to create a collage of independent moments resulting in a greater whole.”

The vision coheres around Toluca’s many materials: wood for the head, upholstery for the body, and metal for the legs, for “a fresh harmonization of upholstery, wood and metal.”

Toluca’s identity emerges from the interplay of these materials, offering a variety of textures as well as a color-block effect that lends Toluca its unique aesthetic.

The upholstery may be specified in a variety of colors. Wood options include Ash or Walnut with a natural finish or nine choices for color tinting. Toluca is available with a base of wood or metal. The metal base may be powder-coated or finished in stainless or hand-rubbed steel.
