wear this there: hotel de verdun 1882 lyon, france.
since i’m still desperately hankering for a trip back to my beloved france, i thought on today’s wear this there i’d take you to one of my very favorite cities there, lyon. and we’re headed somewhere i hope to stay very soon — hotel de verdun 1882. i discovered this new traveler’s hotel via one of my personal favorite blogs the socialite family (now with a beautiful homewares shop — both online and in lyon) and i cannot wait to visit both the hotel and their shop. hotel de verdun 1882’s decor is sublimely chic and looks to be the kind of place i think we’d all love to have a good night’s rest after a day of walking lyon, and i do highly recommend you wander on foot. lyon is an incredibly beautiful city and easy to get around with some of my favorite shopping for home design, so we’re going to need a few days here, therefore i’ve you covered with some mix & match looks. for day, an easy straw tote bag, comfy jeans, cashmere beanie, and french sneakers that you can pair with a stylish sweatshirt, or a classic white-button down and double-breasted jacket (so french!). then for evening, you can literally slip into this slip skirt and some slinky sandals and add some layered necklaces to that neckline. i’ve packed you some sweet pj’s and sleep mask, too, but before you conk out for the night, i highly recommend reading The Chateau by william maxwell. i just finished this novel about an american couple visiting france directly after world war II and it charmed me to tears. and, it’s most likely the reason i’m missing france as much as i am right now. i’ve since read two more novels by mister maxwell and can’t say enough about how much i adore his writing. bon voyage!
