The adidas Samba Millennium is a criminally underrated shoe. So often overshadowed by the low-profiled Samba, the evolved Millennium sneaker has rarely seen the light of day since its inception in the early 2010s, much to my dismay.

However, adidas’ Samba Millennium shoe is finally set to make its long-awaited comeback in November thanks to Adsum. On November 6, the New York-based label revealed a collaborative adidas Samba sneaker and a release date.

Adsum, which last teamed up with adidas back in 2017 for a football kit collaboration, have yet to unveil the Samba Millennium sneaker in its entirety, although the artwork and sole of the shoe suggests that it’ll arrive in a red and white colorway.

It’s likely that my guesswork won’t be that for too long though, as we expect everything around the Adsum x adidas Samba Millennium collaboration to become a little clearer in the coming days, not least because the New York outfit confirmed a release date of November 16.

Long-time admirers of Adsum will be well-aware that this isn’t Adsum’s first sneaker collaboration.

Last year the label released a chocolate-y take on Reebok’s Club C Mid II before iterations on Vans’ OG Era LX and OG Classic Slip-On a few months later.

Adsum’s most sought-after footwear collaboration to date, though, undoubtedly came back back in 2018 when it teamed up with New Balance for its very own Friends & Family 990v3.

The shoe, which comprised a navy upper with Adsum embroidery at the rear, was available exclusively to those ITK, with only a few pairs actually available to the public.

This release is, however, Adsum’s first official footwear link up with adidas and, while the sneaker is yet to be fully revealed, I can already say with some gusto that barring a monstrosity on the upper, this new adidas Samba Millennium will be my favorite shoe off the Adsum footwear conveyor belt yet.
