NYCxDESIGN winner for contract flooring and Best of Neocon Silver winner for area rugs, Patricia Urquiola’s Patch and Cord combine old world techniques with new technology.
A collection edited by Gan for Haworth, Patch and Cord are made by artisans in India. In fact, the manufacture of this rug provided a respite from COVID work shutdowns, offering affected communities a financial opportunity during a lean time.
The rugs feature a dhurrie technique, traditionally a flat handwoven cotton rug with patterns inspired by the state of origin.
Eschewing cotton in favor of 100% recycled PET, Patch has great sustainability credentials as well as durability—it’s designed for indoor and outdoor use.
With deep contrasts and geometric patterns, both Patch and Cord evoke traditional dhurrie designs.
