An intimate connection, animated between two plates of cold aluminium. This is the concept behind Belgian industrial designer Maxime le Grelle‘s portable SSD drive, where he seeks to build a better connection between computer and storage device. A connection that is harmonious rather than clunky and fractured.

The main body is milled from two blocks of aluminium with the casing finished with a powder coating. The side cut offers a way to store the cable in a back lip. The magnets take advantage of the internals of the computer and magnetically attach its body. The SSD casing is secured by two brass coated hex screws.

Make this entirely wireless and we have something truly outstanding.
