For its latest collection, Blauer has sought to inject the traditionally sober military uniform aesthetic with a distinctive and ethereal summer spirit. Featuring a complete wardrobe with pieces such as outerwear, and beachwear pieces in lycra inspired by the legendary TV show Baywatch, the collection nods to classic American style, with a modern twist.

There’s a strong focus on functionality and a wide variety of fabrics, including windproof and breathable nylon and microfiber. Versatile, solid-color pieces are accompanied by optical and psychedelic prints, perfect for some summertime sunshine. There are oversized silhouettes, macro polka dots, and two-tone prints inspired by ‘60s color-explosion style — the collection even puts a multicolor twist on the classic military evergreen camouflage pattern.

The brand was founded in Boston in 1936 as a supplier of technical clothing for the US military. Thanks to its Italian parent company FGF Industry, the brand was introduced into the fashion market in 2001, armed with a unique point of view and signature, uniform-inspired aesthetic. But even before its “official” entry into the fashion market, the brand’s pieces often slipped through the classified cracks and found themselves being worn by all kinds of street-dwelling savvy dressers.

The brand’s classic outerwear pieces are offered in a wide variety of iterations, with colorful leather jackets, minimal lightweight basic jackets with clean-cut lines and smooth fabrics combined with innovative Sorona filling, as well as minimal padded jackets and down puffer jackets, in fabrics such as Repreve recycled polyester. The collection also features the Blauer B. Tactical genderless line inspired by American army, air force, and police uniforms. Pieces include the classic MA1 bomber jacket, anoraks, field jackets, and overshirts, in fabrics such as vintage peach skin microfibers and nylon. So whether your fashion arena of choice is the city street or the beachside cocktail bar, Blauer’s got you covered.
