Ronnie Fieg is unashamedly a huge New York Knicks fan. And as the founder of streetwear label KITH, he’s had the privilege most basketball fans wouldn’t, having collaborated with them on a number of occasions. The epitome of mixing work with pleasure.

As of today, though, their relationship looks to have gone up a level, after Fieg was named as the team’s creative director, a first-of-its-kind role.

Officially announced via Instagram earlier today, Fieg is set to work with the NBA side and help them to “develop a community around our international brand by developing an in-house line and extenuating creative,” according to the post.

Fieg — who’s been a Knicks fan for over three decades — has collaborated with the basketball team on numerous occasions over the past few years through his KITH label, including back in 2020 when he designed a series of sleek “City Jersey” releases.

“Welcome the first-ever Creative Director of the New York Knicks, Ronnie Fieg,” read the Knicks’ Instagram post. “Ronnie will work with us to develop a community around our international brand by developing an in-house line and extenuating creativity.”

“We celebrate tonight with Kith Night at Madison Square Garden as we debut our 2022-2023 City Edition Uniform and new court, designed by Ronnie and his brand KITH. Welcome home Ronnie.”

The aforementioned KITH night looks set to see the Knicks face up against the Pistons wearing their new Fieg-designed 2022/23 looks, while a pop-up will be found inside the front entry of Madison Square Garden which will home the KITH for Knicks 2022 Collection, one-day before its global release. Go geddem!
