Industrial Design’s largest skill-sharing, networking, and future-building conference will be held in Seattle this year between September 12th and 14th, 2022. With multiple keynotes, workshops, and even awards being held in the 3 days, this is one event you DON’T want to miss! The program will be held offline but designers, students, and entrepreneurs around the world can attend the conference virtually too! Here’s what’s in store for this year’s 2022 International Design Conference…
Organized in partnership with Samsung, KeyShot, Teague, Starbucks, Advanced Design, and many more, the International Design Conference will kickstart on the 12th of September with a Morning Mixer followed by talks from IDSA members including Tim Hulford (Director of Design, Meta), Ayako Takase (Co-founder, Observatory), Ana Mengote Baluca (Designer / Educator, Pratt Institute), and many more. The day will also cap off with the grand announcement of the winners of the 2022 International Design Excellence Awards, followed by the IDEA Gala night sponsored by Samsung. The IDSA Education Symposium is happening on Day 2 and Day 3, along with a panel discussion from designers at Google and Huge (Topic: Should you pivot to UX!?), Lunch-n-Learns with KeyShot, and an Offsite workshop led by Advanced Design’s Hector Silva and Offsite Instructors Michael DiTullo and Spencer Nugent.

After 2 straight years of virtual events, IDC is back to host an in-person conference that also can be attended virtually. Each year, IDC assembles an eclectic mix of content for hundreds of designers and innovators from across the globe to come together for three days of skill-building, networking, and knowledge exchange, and this year is no different. The conference is open to attendees across all design disciplines and even to non-designers. Through the sharing of ideas, you’ll come away with a fresh perspective and actionable insights ready to be implemented into your own work and your own industry. You can grab in-person tickets (IDSA members get a discount) or a virtual viewing pass. IDSA Design Foundation’s DEI Event Access Program also will be offering college students who are underrepresented in industrial design free virtual tickets to IDC 2022 prior to the application deadline of August 15th.
