Continuing to expand in scope, Chicago’s NeoCon and Fulton Market Design Days festival will once again welcome international visitors to discover and explore the latest in commercial and workspace innovation and creativity. Now spread across two main venues – the iconic Mart and the more-recently restored Fulton Market – the annual showcase for commercial interior design solutions is one of the industry’s most-significant events. So much so, that on May 21 the city officially proclaimed the second week in June to be Chicago Design Week, recognizing its value as a major player in the word of design. Here, we preview five of the many new products that are topping our must-see list during NeoCon and Design Days 2025.

Curve by Allermuir

NeoCon Design Days 2025: Curve by Allermuir

Applying a contemporary lens to the classic lounge chair, U.K. design studio SmithMatthias appointed Curve with sculpted arms that continue uninterrupted to form an enveloping backrest that cradles the body – the resultant graceful swooping form is what gives the chair its name. When devising the intentionally oversized Curve for Allermuir, co-founding designers Jack Smith and Gemma Matthias were inspired by British artist Henry Moore and Cuban sculptor Agustín Cárdenas, whose works they had admired during visits to Japan’s Hakone Open-Air Museum and Bruton’s Hauser Wirth in Somerset.

Curve balances “deliberately awkward elements” with rounded organic shapes to exude a refined confidence that Allermuir and SmithMatthias refer to as Bold Softness. Made from solid oak, the meticulously crafted Curve features four chunky legs that anchor the contoured arms and back, with the natural grain of the wood lending warmth and texture to the seat. An inviting addition to corporate and hospitality settings, Curve is available in a range of wood stains and colour washes.

Murals on Glass by Skyline

NeoCon Design Days 2025: Murals on Glass by Skyline

New York designer Jill Malek and Chicago-based architectural glass specialist Skyline have teamed up once again to deliver the Murals on Glass collection, a five-pattern series that brings softness to the built environment through nature-inspired visuals.

The five original patterns created by Malek in the Murals on Glass collection – Alpenglow, Iceland, Into the Woods, Sedona and Tulip – are rhythmic abstractions derived from nature and introduce an opportunity to improve mood, attention span and emotional regulation in human-centred spaces. With the possibility to tailor the level of transparency, the glass panels can be installed in multiple scenarios, from transparent partitions to obscured meeting room walls to completely opaque cladding for feature walls, elevator bays and more. Made-to-order by Skyline on panels up to 1.82-by-3.65 metres, the collection is available in a palette of colourways inspired by the magical twilight of dawn and dusk that interact with light and space in unique ways.

Cargo Modular Seating by Mizetto

NeoCon Design Days 2025: Cargo Modular Seating by Mizetto

Swedish design brand Mizetto, long known for its design-forward and functional waste-sorting bins, storage solutions and other accessories, will be launching it first-ever sofa system during this year’s NeoCon and Design Days. Designed by Kalmar-based ADDI studio – the creatives behind one of the brand’s inaugural forays into seating, the award-winning Lumber – the idea for the Cargo modular sofa system comes from the practicality of space-saving cargo packages that are secured by thick tension straps.

Offering near-endless configuration possibilities, the Cargo system includes three modular components – Pouf, Level (with one back) and Corner (with two backs) – each derived from the shape of a cube that has been twisted and scrunched. The moulded polyurethane foam volumes are secured in place to the thin plywood bases by removable nylon straps, the tension of which give the squares their distorted shape; a small tray table can be slide down and locked into place between two modules. Made from locally sourced materials, the removable covers can be cleaned and repaired as needed and are offered in a wide range of fabrics types and colourways.

4
Vina by Stylex

NeoCon Design Days 2025: Vina by Stylex

This year, Stylex celebrates creative freedom and the power of design under the theme Design Unbound. Devised by creative director Carole Baijings, the brand’s showroom will be washed in a warm yet modern palette that explores the softer side of architecture. Highlighting the benefit of human-centric environments, the space will come to life through colours and shapes, blurred zones and an easy, comfortable flow.

Among the new releases to be presented in the setting is Vina, an adaptable planter system that presents an elegant way to incorporate a healthy dose of biophilia into modern corporate and commercial environments. A modular collection, Vina is influenced by the glean geometry of architectural tiling and includes standalone planter boxes that can be integrated with wood-topped bench seating and display surfaces. Defined by fluted aluminum exteriors (which can be powder-coated in all 24 of Stylex’s vibrant colours), Vina supports spatial movement and a feeling of wellness with statement-making greenery installations.

Known for its highly effective, high-design acoustic solutions, Turf Design will be revealing its latest offering during NeoCon and Design Days, one that masterfully emulates the artistry and variety of wood veneer cuts. Called Wood Textures, the new line is comprised of three nature-inspired designs – Rift, Rotary and Flat – and was developed in collaboration with Carolyn Ames Noble, founder and principal of Atlanta-based Ames Design Collective

Printed onto nine-millimetre-thick PET felt (with at least 60 per cent pre-consumer recycled content), the Wood Textures collection from Turf Design is intentionally paired with the brand’s Hues colour palette, which features 32 tones and shades carefully calibrated for saturation and concentration. Suitable for a variety of sound-absorbing applications, each pattern expresses unique characteristics that interpret different cuts of wood or veneer: Rift has the most delicate and subtle patterning, while large burls and knots give Rotary a bold personality and Flat treads the line between both with moderate movement, depth, shading and knots.
