Located in the heart of Bangkok, Thailand, One Bangkok is a new landmark mixed-use development spanning over 100 rai (approximately 40 acres). Designed by the renowned architectural firm SOM, the project includes three large-scale office towers and has become one of the city’s iconic new developments.
A. Menarini, Italy’s first pharmaceutical and healthcare company and currently ranked fifth in Thailand has selected One Bangkok as the site for its new office. This move reflects the company’s commitment to adapting to post-pandemic workplace trends and transforming its office model for the future of work.
PMIA participated in this relocation project as the design consultant, tasked with transforming a raw space into an 800-square-meter office. The layout concept is based on the “AWB Concept” (Anywhere Working Behavior), enabling employees to work flexibly across various zones within the office. Enclosed rooms and meeting spaces are positioned along the inner walls, maximizing access to natural daylight for the main work areas and promoting energy efficiency.
The design approach draws inspiration from the sophisticated color schemes of Italian style. Luxurious materials such as marble are contrasted with modern, clean-lined recessed lighting. Natural elements and decorative plants are thoughtfully integrated throughout the space, offering a calming atmosphere and achieving a harmonious balance between nature and a futuristic environment.
In addition to design aesthetics, PMIA has incorporated key elements of universal design. These include dual-height reception and pantry bar counters, appropriately wide walkways and doors for wheelchair accessibility, and color-contrasted flooring along main circulation paths to aid the visually impaired in case of emergencies. Adjustable furniture also supports both seated and standing work configurations, enhancing flexibility and inclusivity in the workplace.
