i wasn’t able to take a proper summer holiday this year, and i’m feeling a little sorry for myself about it. all those summer snapshots on instagram are giving me major fomo! so i thought we’d take a virtual trip to somewhere i’d love to go — the italian riviera. let’s visit the land (and sea) of limoncello, gelato, red wine, and lots and lots of fresh fish and spaghetti while we ride around on vespas, lay under sassy striped umbrellas, and generally just be fat and happy.

to settle further into this mood, you might enjoy reading meeting in postitano by goliarda sapienza, enchanted april by elizabeth von arnim, or beautiful ruins by jess walter. or perhaps you might like to watch (or re-watch) call me by your name, stealing beauty, or the talented mr. ripley. you with me? sì, andiamo.
