Things around here have been moving at breakneck speeds lately, and I suspect it’s the same for many of you out there, so coming across this quietly elegant house was such a welcome visual respite for me. It belongs to Nina Plummer and her husband, both of whom wanted a slower pace of life and decided to escape the London grind and move to Edinburgh, Scotland. After moving, Nina was able to dedicate herself fully to her slow living retail brand, Ingredients LDN, which sells thoughtfully made items that she hopes will “invite people to slow, savor and enjoy, drawing attention to the significance within the rituals of daily life.” After spending my holidays operating at a tropical island pace, I’ve been feeling an intense craving for a slower life that also allows me to more consciously enjoy the home I’ve worked so hard to fix up and put together instead of chasing the next improvement or upgrade. And serene homes like these are a lovely reminder to pause, get out of my head, appreciate the tactile coziness of linen or a furry blanket, and relish my cozy surroundings with gratitude and mindfulness.

cheers, ezz.
