In a landmark moment for Abu Dhabi’s cultural landscape, the highly anticipated teamLab Phenomena Abu Dhabi is set to open on April 18, 2025, within the Saadiyat Cultural District. This ambitious project, a collaboration between the Department of Culture and Tourism of Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi), Miral Experiences, and the globally renowned art collective teamLab, promises to redefine the boundaries of art, technology, and nature.

Spanning an expansive 17,000 square meters, teamLab Phenomena Abu Dhabi will showcase large-scale, interactive installations that evolve dynamically in response to environmental factors such as light, air, and water. Unlike traditional museums where exhibits remain static, this venue embraces teamLab’s concept of ‘Environmental Phenomena’, ensuring that each visit offers a unique, ever-changing experience. The artworks do not exist independently but are shaped by their surroundings, making every moment within the space unrepeatable.
Conceptualized by teamLab Architects and brought to life in collaboration with Abu Dhabi-based MZ Architects, the venue is designed as a ‘home to infinite curiosity’. The architectural form blurs the boundaries between interior and exterior, creating an environment akin to a living organism. Visitors will find themselves immersed in an environment where the structure itself becomes an experience, shifting perceptions of space and art. The design incorporates organic shapes and fluid surfaces, ensuring that interactions with the space become ingrained as personal, bodily memories rather than just visual recollections.
teamLab Phenomena Abu Dhabi features a diverse range of multi-sensory exhibits that challenge traditional perceptions of art. Among the highlights are:
Massless Suns and Dark Suns – A mesmerizing display of floating spheres of light and darkness, creating an ethereal interplay between presence and absence.
Levitation Void – A striking installation that redefines space and perception through a dynamic black circle that appears to hover weightlessly.
teamLab Phenomena Abu Dhabi is an art venue, and a bold experiment in the fusion of art, science, and technology. By integrating digital media, natural elements, and interactive environments, the project challenges the very notion of what art can be. HE Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of DCT Abu Dhabi, has emphasized that this initiative aligns with the Saadiyat Cultural District’s mission to foster cultural exchange and innovation, placing Abu Dhabi at the forefront of contemporary artistic exploration.
