Throughout its 40-year history, AZURE has been a venue for learning. In 1985, the first print editions brought Canadian designers into a global conversation, with dispatches from around the world put into dialogue with the emerging local design scene. Over the years, the dialogue has continued to grow via our website and social channels, the AZ Awards, AZURE Talks and — most recently — the inaugural edition of our annual Human/Nature conference in 2024. This year, the launch of AZURE Learning presents another milestone, making our educational CEU-accredited programming accessible anytime, anywhere, and at any pace.

The new AZURE Learning hub kicks off with 10 standout sessions recorded at Human/Nature 2024, a two-day conference on climate change mitigation through design. Featuring some of the world’s foremost experts, the conference explored circular furniture manufacturing, low-carbon interior materials, sustainable architecture, complete cities, regenerative landscapes and more. Now live, the AZURE Learning selection includes action-oriented talks by Kongjian Yu, Susan Carruth, Julia Watson and Tommaso Bitossi, as well as a variety of panel discussions on topics including urban heat, Indigenous design futures, whole life cycle carbon reduction and affordable mass housing.

The broad range of programming is complemented by a simple, intuitive and flexible interface: Simply select your session, watch and learn at your own pace, and submit your certificate. AZURE Learning also features special bundled pricing, offering A&D professionals a convenient, consolidated source for continuing education.

The AZURE Learning hub comes online as the magazine celebrates its 40th anniversary in 2025. Later this month, the special 40th anniversary issue of AZURE is set to come out in print and online — as well as on Apple News — while the landmark 15th edition of the AZ Awards will be celebrated on June 19. And in October, the Human/Nature conference returns for its second edition, bringing together interdisciplinary design expertise from around the world at Toronto’s Evergreen Brickworks. Throughout the year and beyond, AZURE Learning will be expanded with timely and engaging new content, creating a unique destination for the A&D community and beyond.
