On November 9 and 10, New York’s Javits Center welcomed the 2025 edition of (BDNY). Offering an in-depth overview of the evolving landscape of hospitality design, the annual show brought together over 600 exhibitors — including more than 100 first-time participants — for an industry-leading showcase. The wealth of programming was accented by a series of immersive, bespoke booths, which transported visitors to locales ranging from a snowy ski chalet to a poolside cocktail bar. Below, we round up four especially striking installations at BDNY 2025.
Châlet Après by Mazzarini & Co.
A world away from the hustle and bustle of Manhattan, Châlet Après carves a cozy mountainside setting into the cavernous body of the Javits Center. Designed by New York’s for Marriott Bonvoy, this contemporary take on the ski lodge setting pairs clean, modernist proportions with the warm colours and lived-in textures of a rustic retreat.
The project also forms part of the launch for Apartments by Marriott Bonvoy, a new residential living concept that marries hotel style with the grounded comforts of home.
The Alchemist by Aria Group
Every truly great restaurant or cocktail bar bears at least a hint of magic. From a seemingly ordinary set of ingredients, a thing of beauty emerges. ‘s installation aims to translate this culinary inspiration into design. “Inspired by alchemy’s pursuit of excellence — such as turning base material into precious metals — this experience blends mixed metals, imaginative design and culinary artistry,” notes the Illinois-based design team.
Both an all-day café and an informal conference stage, the space performed a complex feat of double-duty without a moment of awkwardness. There’s definitely alchemy in that.
Midnight Garden by DesignAgency and Studio DA
Founded in Toronto with studios in Los Angeles, Washington, D.C. and Barcelona — not to mention a truly international portfolio of projects — the globe-trotting team at and knows a thing or two about journeys and destinations. Evoking a respite for the jet-lagged hotel guest, the Midnight Garden “guides visitors through a sequence of thresholds — each marking a subtle shift in time, mood and awareness,” the studio explains.
Sound, scent, texture and even taste all come together to create an immersive escape from everyday life. Here, “the rhythms of nature — blooming, dormancy and rebirth — echo the progression of emotions felt during a hospitality experience.”
The Splash Pad by DREAM Hotels and Nivek Remas
Developed by Dream Hotels in partnership with Toronto-based design firm , the Splash Pad celebrates the laid-back poolside setting as “a place of connection and creativity — a kinetic escape where work and play, day and night, seamlessly flow together.”
To bring the idea of a pool into the Javits Center, the booth featured a showpiece lighting program by VISO, including an Adriatic blue ripple metal ceiling, moulded lights that mimic retro striped floaties, vertical ladder lamps, an infinity mirror on arrival, and table lamps to complete the experience.
