Milan’s biannual lighting fair Euroluce, held in parallel with Salone del Mobile, was back for 2019, bringing together the latest in luminaire design from over 420 exhibitors from across the globe. Known as the worldwide benchmark for lighting, technically innovative and creatively progressive designs encompassed lights for outdoor, indoor, commercial, industrial, residential, and purely aesthetic use. Perhaps more than any other sector within Salone Del Mobile, Euroluce is known for championing avant-garde products that are eco-sustainable and energy saving.

FLOS, Louis Poulsen and B&B Italia announced their joint participation as Design Holding – a new global group that brings the three brands together. The enormous stand, designed by Calvi Brambilla, was located in the new S.Project pavilion – a crosscutting exhibition format that made its debut at this year’s Salone del Mobile. The entry featured a captivating, interactive installation, which animated both the great masters and the pieces from the brand collections. One of our favourites releases from FLOS was the extremely cool light by Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec, made from leather belts, achieving an amazing visual balance between the soft and the rigid look.

Spanish brand Vibia launched plenty of interesting new products – some of the highlights include Sticks collection by Arik Levy – a flexible system that emphasises the relationship between the architecture and the light, and Plusminus by Stefan Diez that sees the light suspended from a textile strap, which had to be specially developed to allow the electrical current to run through its entire length.

Scroll on to see more of our highlights form Euroluce 2019, from pared back designs with cutting edge technology, to the dramatic, sculptural conceptions.

Please note that this report from Euroluce is just the tip of the iceberg, with many more fantastic new products (and great stands) revealed in our MILANTRACE 2019 Digital Report, launching soon. Stay tuned!
