The new Caja Rural de Asturias headquarters occupies a place of honor in one of the most distinctive buildings on Paseo de la Castellana in Madrid, which stands out for its unmistakable architectural profile. Touza Arquitectos has taken on the challenge of transforming this space into a benchmark in the design of bank offices in Spain. Throughout this process, there has been a strong focus on construction quality, energy efficiency, resulting a certification from Green Building Council España.

The outcome is a versatile, dynamic, and emotional space that reflects a life concept inspired by the values of the Asturian landscape, with its green valleys, extensive forests, mountains shrouded in mist, and clouds. This design achieves a harmonious fusion between architecture and nature, shaping the central core of the space as if it were the course of a river.

Around this central core, “semi-open” spaces are arranged, inviting exploration through openings in the walls and transparent glass partitions. The curved and sinuous forms convey a sense of constant movement, ensuring that both employees and visitors never feel trapped in a confined environment.

In addition to this sense of openness, special attention has been paid to the comfort and warmth of the space, carefully incorporating the tones and textures of the materials used in the floors, walls, and ceilings. This focus on comfort and hospitality ensures a pleasant experience for everyone entering this unique space.
