i’ve shared all about blue before in color stories, but i just love the well-known shades of very provincial french blues and i’d definitely say they’re a range of hues that are always en vogue. think of the french riviera or a farmhouse in Provence and you’re getting the idea. blue’s always been a pretty traditional classic, so perhaps we’re’ just giving it a vintage-modern update. vintage is also always in style (in fashion, and in decor) and blue jewel tones lend themselves well to a pairing of rich fabrics upholstered on older pieces — they just live quite well together. blue paired with almost any color is a no-brainer and mustard yellow or wood tones are always dreamy. whether you add a bit of blue through artwork, a beautiful piece of furniture, or a bold accent of floor to ceiling paint, it’s going to look Très Chic, and whether on-trend or not, i think blue has long-lasting legs that aren’t going away anytime soon.
