one of the things i did right away after buying my house is to try and bring back some of the california craftsman personality that had been stripped away from it over the years. it had the craftsman ‘bones’ but window trim was missing and the paint job didn’t accent the lines of the house. i continue to work on returning the house to its true architecture (you can see before photos here), and my latest addition is in partnership with troy lighting. they have all kinds of beautiful artisan lighting fixtures — for indoor and outdoor, but since the exterior lights on my house never really made my heart sing, i selected some perfectly craftsman-styled sconces to look great against the black paint.
i chose troy’s allegheny lights with a dark finish and vintage-inspired glass enclosures and cages, which were just what i was looking for and make a world of difference to the house, adding a lot of curb appeal to my old craftsman. troy carries everything from modern pendant lights and chandeliers, to a wonderful selection of exterior fixtures, and bathroom and vanity lights, too. i was super impressed with the quality, easy installation and most of all, love knowing their outdoor sconces will be a great long-term investment in my home.
