Chances are you’ve come across Doug Aitken’s “Mirage” while scrolling through instagram. One of 16 installations in this year’s Desert X, this house of mirrors is an interactive art piece that sits high atop a hillside overlooking the coachella valley in Palm Springs. From the porch, you can see the iconic meadow of windmills, the main strip in Palm Springs and miles of mountains and boulders. The desert colors are reflected in and around the structure making it hands down the loveliest fun house experience you’ll ever have. It’s free and open to the public through the end of October and I suggest you arrive early to beat the heat and the crowds.
