Scientists at the University of Guelph in Ontario, Canada, have developed a slime-like material with precisely that capability. While not exactly “electric slime,” this innovative substance generates electricity when compressed or squeezed. Composed of 90% water, along with biocompatible and bio-based oleic (fatty) acid and amino acids, the prototype represents a significant leap in material science. Researchers discovered that the slime forms intricate structures at a microscopic level, allowing it to dynamically arrange and rearrange itself into various layered formations. This unique structural property is key to its electricity-generating ability.

You can use the material for household flooring so that it will produce green electricity when people are walking on it, somewhat similar to the Kinetic Dance Floor that Coldplay used in their concert tour. You can also create a squishy power bank to charge your devices.
