For design-lover Brooke Hogan, the materials were a natural choice for her stunning new Wildcoast Home.  The wish was for a modern home with subtle hints of coastal influences to ensure it felt warm and lived in.

Flooded with natural light, the home has been designed for family life and entertaining, with an airy feel that is balanced by the serenity and solidity of natural stone features from Signorino and engineered timber flooring from Woodcut.

“Our vision was to create a home that felt calm and timeless,” Brooke says.

“We placed a big emphasis on natural materials, textures and soft tones. The goal was to design a home that felt beautiful but also deeply functional for our family.”

She explains that the combination of natural stone and timber was central to the overall feel of the home. The warmth of the timber softens the stone, while the stone adds a refined contrast.

Signorino’s Taj Mahal and Ceppo Sicilia stone slabs were used as features in the kitchen and bar area, while Woodcut’s Voss timber flooring creates a stunning ground plane that brings the entire aesthetic together.

Signorino and Woodcut are Australian are two brands that complement each other with products that create a harmonious material aesthetic in residential or commercial applications.

Signorino specialises in porcelain tiles, terrazzo, porcelain sheets and natural stone from around the world. The range of natural stone includes lush marbles, emerald quartzite and silky limestone, with hues ranging from deep jade greens to creams, golds and brilliant whites. The Signorino team are also experts at the art of collaboration, working with architects, designers and other clients to find the perfect slab, tile or sheet of stone for their individual project.

“It’s no secret that Signorino offers some of the most premium and beautiful stone options available, and from our very first visit to their warehouse, we knew we had to incorporate their products into our home,” Brooke says.

“Seeing the slabs in person and experiencing the scale, movement and texture of the stone made the decision easy and it immediately felt like the hero material for our project.”

The stone has become a focal point, bringing a sense depth, softness and luxury to the spaces. It is also a magnet for compliments from guests.

The timber flooring is also a source of delight for Brooke and her family.

Woodcut is an Australian engineered timber specialist, crafting beautiful and sustainable oak, ash and walnut engineered flooring. The quality of the products is founded on the team’s understanding of fabricating and finishing exceptional, robust and elegant flooring, elevating the hardwood within a three-layer construction that utilises fast-growing poplar for the core and backing.

“Having used Woodcut in our first home, using them again felt like a natural and obvious choice,” Brooke explains.

“We had quite a specific brief of what finish we wanted, so loved the variety of timber finishes available.”

Because she was based at some distance away from the showroom, Brooke was able to receive small samples via mail to consider and found the perfect match.

The result of this discerning approach to materials is a home that is a source of joy.

“Both Signorino and Woodcut offer exceptional quality and if you’re looking to create a home that feels elevated, warm and inviting they are the perfect choice. Our flooring and stone are the hero moments of our home, and we couldn’t be happier with our choices.”

One of her favourite things is the way natural light from the generous windows illuminates the timber and the stone.

“The quality is something we notice every day,” she says.

“Whether this is in the texture and finish of the stone or the way the timber looks but also feels underfoot. It’s that combination of beauty and durability that really stands out.”
