Over the pandemic years, we have witnessed unprecedented shifts in our ways of working and living. It’s no secret that the world has changed, but what does this truly mean? How do the dynamic changes in architecture and design affect our present reality?

These are just some of the questions that will be investigated and discussed at the 2023 INDE.Summit. Set to take place online on August 9th, the theme for the event has now been revealed – The Future is Here.

A line-up of industry leaders and experts will tackle some of the most pertinent and pressing questions of our time. Attendees can expect to gain valuable insights into aligning traditional concepts of housing, education, workspace and sustainability with today’s priorities and values. The theme will cover the impact of social structure, culture, and requirements on architectural and design practices, while also asking how architecture and design can lead the way in shaping our rapidly changing world.

From housing and sustainability to hybrid workplaces, the future is here at the 2023 INDE.Summit

Alongside the stimulating ideas and discussion, the INDE.Summit is an outstanding opportunity to connect with like-minded people from across the design world and expand your network. The only change that matters in architecture and design is collective change and coming together for this important event is the ideal way to work towards a desirable future together.

Speakers at the summit will include Dr Eduard Hovy, executive director of Melbourne Connect (a research and tech transfer centre at the University of Melbourne); Graeme Spencer, national director education and science at HDR; Shimul Zaveri Kadri, architect and founder of SJK Architects; Kellie Payne, director at Bates Smart; and Colin Seah, founder and director of design at Ministry of Design Singapore.

Topics of discussion, meanwhile, will include the hybrid workplace, education design, housing and sustainability. And of course with this year’s theme – The Future is Here – artificial intelligence (AI) can hardly be far away. It’s the archetypal example of the future having already arrived in the present and Dr Hoy, also a research professor at the Language Technologies Institute in the School of Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon University, will lead the keynote speech on the issue.
