The initial phase of the G Mining project focused on developing a functional layout tailored to the needs of two distinct entities within the company. Each entity, G mining Services inc. and G mining Ventures Corp. required their own unique identity and reception area, while still maintaining a coherent and connected environment. Ensuring smooth circulation and visual harmony between the two spaces was a key planning objective.
To unify the layout, Folio Design created a linear pathway around a central core, subtly marked by different carpet textures and insertions. These visual cues helped define movement while enhancing the overall aesthetic, using organic materials to reinforce the design concept.
One standout design element is a gold-painted cable tray on the ceiling, echoing G Mining’s brand colors. This feature adds elegance and reinforces the company’s visual identity, blending technical elements seamlessly into the overall aesthetic.
To encourage social interaction and relaxation, a central gathering space was designed in the form of a bistro. Softer and more intimate than the rest of the office, the bistro features two fully glazed façades that bring in ample natural light. The material palette and furniture selection strike a balance between individual nooks and casual lounge-style areas, providing users with versatile and comfortable options.
Folio Design’s material choices contribute to a striking contrast with traditional office spaces. Drawing inspiration from the mining world, the design incorporates natural stone, earthy tones, and dim, mysterious lighting to create a subdued yet inviting environment. This contrast allows employees to briefly “escape” their work routines in a space that feels both relaxing and inspiring.
Folio Design created a user-centered workspace by prioritizing ergonomics, flexibility, and well-being. Adjustable furniture, biophilic elements, and smart lighting enhance comfort and productivity. Carefully zoned spaces support various work modes, from focused tasks to informal exchanges. Designed for both permanent and hybrid teams, the layout ensures adaptability, offering a balanced and pleasant work experience in an urban setting.
The result is a flexible and multi-functional office layout that meets diverse needs—from informal socializing to learning opportunities. It fosters collaboration, supports team bonding, and creates a welcoming, dynamic workplace culture that reflects G Mining’s identity and values.
