i have a brand new favorite when it comes to design books, and couldn’t wait to order and share it with you. from writer and florist @brass__tacks aka Lisa Przystup comes upstate Living: Spaces with Space to Live from monacelli press with beautiful photography by sarah elliott. the book is such an inspiring one because it captures everything i love about good design — eclectic spaces with unexpected twists and a wonderful mix of vintage modern. inspired by lisa’s move from brooklyn to new york’s Catskills, it’s an inspiring look at what life upstate might be like with uniquely personal home tours of twelve creative interiors on both sides of the Hudson river and upstate definitely tempts me with the idea of packing my bags for life in a charming old farm home on the east coast. the beauty of these distinctive spaces is a common approach to decoration that centers on collections gradually accumulated, handmade and vintage treasures, and embraces the style one can achieve in imperfection, and values comfort and character above all. i had a difficult time narrowing down just a few images from the book to share with you, but i think you’ll see what a great addition to your design library it will be. for more inspiration from lisa, follow her at @brass__tacks.
