Haier is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of home appliances, and its Polish operation needed a building that would do two jobs at once. Neither was allowed to compromise the other: a showroom persuasive enough to present products to retail partners and media, and a full working office for the team behind it.
The showroom is the centrepiece, and it carries two brands – Haier and Candy. The solution was two adjacent kitchen zones, each with its own visual character and each stating its brand clearly, while reading together as a coherent whole. That resolved the identity question but left a very concrete one: fitting more than seventy appliances into clean, well-detailed cabinetry without the space turning into a retail floor. The two zones can be opened up and combined for presentations, meetings, content shoots, or simply a quiet coffee and an hour of work.
Beyond the showroom sits the office proper: open-plan workspaces, private offices, a generous reception, focus rooms and conference rooms. One meeting room looks directly onto a multi-storey display of televisions then launching on the Polish market – a wall of moving image as the backdrop to a meeting, which is either a distraction or the most persuasive sales environment the company has, depending on who is in the room.
At the centre of the plan is a large staff kitchen opening into a relaxation zone. Fitted with dedicated irrigation and lighting systems, it became home to a substantial collection of living plants. In a building otherwise full of appliances and screens, the greenery is what keeps the interior feeling like somewhere people work rather than somewhere products are sold.
The palette runs on light and dark wood, white surfaces and the brand’s blue – so that the products, not the interior, remain the thing you look at.
