Internationally acclaimed design and production studio molo, led by Stephanie Forsythe and Todd MacAllen, operates in the liminal space between art, design, and architecture.

molo’s award-winning soft collection includes adaptable space partitions, innovative lighting, versatile tables and seating elements. Hailed as a trailblazer of poetic design and pragmatic execution, the collection stands as a testament to molo’s unwavering commitment to quality materials and spatial ingenuity.

Among many accomplishments, both softwall and softseating were recognised by the New York Museum of Modern Art and have been immortalised in its permanent collection, as well as softwall receiving the prestigious Danish INEX Award for life-improving design.

A driving force behind the development of the collection was molo’s dedication to sustainability and alternative building materials. This inspired molo to create dynamic spaces with the ability to adapt and reform as individual needs naturally evolve. Blending this ethos of flexibility with design ingenuity allows molo to empower individuals to take control and redefine their environments with spontaneity and excitement.

molo makes modular, sustainable products from paper with unique acoustic qualities. molo’s softwall partition system features craft paper (brown) and white (with illumination) finishes, with custom plinths for the wall to sit on.

The softwall room divider is a versatile, folding wall made from layers of paper with a flexible honeycomb geometry that gives it the ability to compress for storage from a 4.5m long wall into roughly the thickness of an average book. Among the softwall’s benefits include solutions for sound absorption, visual privacy, event backdrops, space dividers and more.

The cantilever table also takes advantage of the innovative honeycomb structure to fan open and connect to itself via magnetic end panels that can be paired with brown/blue paper or white/aluminum textile round bases – recyclable materials which help to further molo’s eco-friendly journey. PaperStone tabletops, resembling hardwood but composed of compressed FSC-certified paper and resin, come in multiple styles; with or without a central hole.

In a bid to encourage clients to engage with the design process, molo also offers the folding base on its own – an opportunity for individuals to seek local materials and design their own tabletop.

molo is available through SeehoSu, a Sydney-based boutique supplier of luxury furniture founded by Joyce Seeho and co-directed with Sara Bordina – whose sharp eye for quality design has seen SeehoSu partner with a plethora of renowned brands such as Maruni Wood Industry of Japan, Tala Lighting (UK), Koyori (Japan), AGO Lighting (Korea)  and, of course, molo design.
