As we embark on the fifth decade of AZURE, our 2026 calendar marks a major milestone. It’s also on these pages that you can plan all of yours. Along the way, you might find yourself in some of the world’s most enticing places, like those captured by our contributing photographers: in Spain, where Ricardo Bofill’s La Muralla Roja condo building still stands pretty with a view of the Mediterranean; in Greenland, where Dorte Mandrup has crafted ; in Toronto, where a massive owl announces ; in Havana, with all of its quotidian eccentricities; in Val d’Orcia, Tuscany, the golden hills rolling out before you.
These scenes, and more, were snapped by some of our regular contributors, friends and staff members: Cindy Blazevic, Alessandro Cancian, Alex Chan, Sahar Coston-Hardy, Andre Doyon, doublespace photography, Alex Fradkin, Sergio Petrelli, Tori Rapp, Riley Snelling, Britney Townsend and Ryan Walker. We asked them to show us a favourite picture they took while documenting a project, a trip, a chore – anything that made them stop, pay attention and focus their lens. In our fast-paced ever-present world, zooming in on a single moment can seem to slow the world down. We hope that gazing on these photos, through the months of the coming year, has the same effect on you.
