yep, it’s curtains for you, but i mean it in the best way possible (not like some dastardly cartoon character!). i’m talking about kitchen sink or cabinet skirts, which come in quite handy if you’ve got unsightly plumbing or not ideal-looking cabinets. popular in european kitchens and an easy and affordable way to give your kitchen (or for that matter – a dishwasher, laundry room, bathroom, or office) an updated look that’s not only practical but pretty, too. and these aren’t your granny’s sink skirts, but instead some quite modern takes on the old rustic curtains you may have seen in yesteryears. i’m not the ultimate diy’r but i think taking existing longer curtains and giving them a shorter hem to fit your counter space would be fairly easy. or grabbing some and clipping them to fabric panels — or as i did in and repurposing for curtains. i’ve also linked to a few ready-made options i found on and other online shops. here are some great looks i found for you. looks like a pretty simple makeover, right?
