we’ve just headed into august, which is kinda hard for me to believe, and summer fruit season will soon be winding down. but what better way to make the best of all those yummy stone fruits than a little DIY jam session? i thought it might be fun to set up the ideal jam making party with some cute accoutrement from crate and barrel. they invited me to create a fun summer evening with goods from their collections and i went to town! i thought their rustic tiered fruit baskets would be ideal for displaying our fruit and the classic weck canning jars in various sizes — small 2.7 ounce jars, and larger 10 ounce and 18 ounce jars. i have a weck jar addiction, to tell you the truth and use them for everything — from salad dressings to storing leftovers, but they’re ideal for storing preserves.
i made fresh juices from the fruit, too and served them in these sweet little bottle glasses with straws, and served them in crate & barrel’s Bendt Metal Serving Basket. since homemade jams make really great hostess gifts, i thought they’d be cute wrapped and tied in some pretty linen napkins — i used these Liam Grey Striped Linen Cloth Dinner Napkins which i love; these Helena Vanilla Ivory and Graphite Linen Dinner Napkins — a super easy, reusable and sustainable way to wrap up gifts. it all turned out looking pretty great for a fun summer evening jammin’ with friends!
