The LEGENDA sales office in Saint Petersburg is located in the historic building of a former cable factory, where industrial heritage becomes the foundation for an intimate, almost domestic living-room atmosphere that fosters new formats of interaction. ludi_architects’ team approached the project as a dialogue with its context: the renewed interior does not conceal the building’s history but highlights it, seamlessly integrating a contemporary program into the existing structure.
The architectural narrative begins from the exterior. The entrance area functions as a spatial buffer between the established urban context and the new interior function. A system of offset from one another platforms creates a smooth transition from the city environment into the interior space.
The layout is organized as a set of functional zones that coexist simultaneously. The living room with a bar—the conceptual core of the project—does not dominate but coexists with meeting rooms, exhibition areas, children’s spaces, and work zones, allowing visitors to choose their preferred mode of interaction. This arrangement makes the interior multilayered and adaptable: it can host business meetings, events, or provide a more intimate, informal setting. The shift in scale and formats reveals the brand’s philosophy, centered on people and their experience.
An art object in the living room area, inspired by a direct current generator that once operated in the factory’s high-voltage laboratory, visually connects the levels and enhances the vertical dynamics of the interior. It is visible from the street and serves as a key focal point.
The material palette is built on a dialogue between copper-toned metals and restored brickwork—a direct reference to the site’s production history. The project avoids literal loft-style quotations; instead, industrial heritage is reinterpreted through structure, proportions, and tactile contrasts. The LEGENDA brand is expressed through the careful integration of details and signature colors, embodied in accent upholstered furniture, tinted veneer, and warm metallic tones.
Elements of industrial heritage are reflected in details and form-genering components. The I-beam motif appears in furniture, lighting structures, and staircase elements, uniting functional parts into a cohesive composition. The plasticity of cable forms is reinterpreted in the lines of installations and the silhouettes of upholstered furniture, creating a dialogue between rigid structural logic and enveloping forms.
Here, working with heritage goes beyond preservation and becomes a design tool. As a result, the space is perceived as a unified architectural statement, where the identity of the place and the character of the brand are combined into an expressive form.
In the interior, we deliberately used a minimal amount of ready-made furniture, focusing instead on custom-designed solutions to convey the LEGENDA brand philosophy as precisely as possible.
