i love my echo park home and i wouldn’t own it without the help of my realtor extraordinaire, rob kallick of . but sometimes, when he has an amazing , i like to imagine that it too could be mine. it’s not practical for me to make a move right now, but i sure can get inspired by this beautiful, understated Elysian valley home by design firm in charming Frogtown, just down the hill from me.
Located just steps from the L.A. river (which is undergoing a resurgence of its own), this re-imagined 1920’s is quintessentially Californian but when you step through its gates you feel like you’ve been dropped directly into the Mediterranean. set back from the street, lush olive and fig trees and succulent plantings frame the restored windows and countless french doors that seamlessly bring the outdoors inside. Exposed beam ceilings, concrete floors, and skylights create a wonderful sense of openness and light throughout the home.
The spacious kitchen has a seating area, concrete countertops, high ceilings, and french doors that lead to a rear courtyard dining area.
