frogtown real estate listing via take sunset. / sfgirlbybay

i love my echo park home and i wouldn’t own it without the help of my realtor extraordinaire, rob kallick of take sunset. but sometimes, when he has an amazing listing like this one, i like to imagine that it too could be mine. it’s not practical for me to make a move right now, but i sure can get inspired by this beautiful, understated Elysian valley home by design firm Breland-Harper in charming Frogtown, just down the hill from me.

Located just steps from the L.A. river (which is undergoing a resurgence of its own), this re-imagined 1920’s Elysian Valley home is quintessentially Californian but when you step through its gates you feel like you’ve been dropped directly into the Mediterranean. set back from the street, lush olive and fig trees and succulent plantings frame the restored windows and countless french doors that seamlessly bring the outdoors inside. Exposed beam ceilings, concrete floors, and skylights create a wonderful sense of openness and light throughout the home.

The spacious kitchen has a seating area, concrete countertops, high ceilings, and french doors that lead to a rear courtyard dining area. An office, two bedrooms, and two baths — which include a master suite with a master bath and a walk-in closet round out the floorplan. a more private and tranquil location at the end of a cul de sac cannot be imagined. just steps from the front door you can walk or ride your bike to local frogtown spots like Spoke Bicycle Cafe, Wax Paper or Salazar while enjoying easy access to surrounding neighborhoods such as Silver Lake, Echo Park, DTLA and the rest of the Eastside. have a gander and if you’re interested in learning more, contact rob at take sunset. i think there’s perhaps another open house this weekend. i hope someone wonderful gets this house — it’s just that special.
