All you need to use when opening a bottle is a simple bottle opener. Some even can actually use their teeth, although this is of course not recommended by dentists. There are also other things you can use if you don’t have an actual bottle opener, like keys, a swiss knife, or even the countertop on your kitchen. What if there’s an elaborate contraption that you can use to make opening bottles more fun?
That’s what designer Ryan K came up with: a fully mechanical bottle opening rig. It’s not just something to open your beer bottles: it’s a testament to pure, unadulterated mechanics. The machine has a sleek anodized aluminum finish and rubber edges whose single purpose is to free your favorite bottled beverage by doing a purely mechanical action. Plus, there are also other features added so that it becomes more functional.

The device also has a system for cap management that will catch the caps in the chute as they’re discarded. Ir even has an integrated coaster holder so you have something handy during a party. Th designer hilariously adds in his description that you still have the option to just use your teeth, seeing the humor in what may be an overly elaborate solution to a fundamentally simple problem.
