Minimalist lamp lets you customize and assemble it yourself

There are two kinds of people in this world: those who like to assemble their furniture on their own and those who don’t want that at all. The former are the people who love shopping at IKEA and always look out for items that they can put together themselves. The Autoprogettazione movement by Enzo Mari encouraged things like this, giving birth to a lot of DIY furniture assembling. 1×1 Systems is a company that has continued this tradition but adding a digital twist by incorporating 3D printing in its products.

The Delta Lamp is one of their DIY products that is basically a study in elegant minimalism and geometric purity. The simplicity by which you can assemble this lamp is a testament to the power of minimalist design. Aside from being a light source, this can also be a sculptural element that adds a touch of modern sophistication to your space. In the spirit of the Autoprogettazione movement, 1×1 systems offers 3D print files and customizable options for this product so you can be part of the design process as well.

The Delta Lamp is composed of adaptable connectors and a 3D-printed, double-walled lampshade. The lampshade includes a thread designed to fit standard E14 light sockets. This innovative design allows users to create a wall lamp by combining the lampshade with a standard light bulb socket and a dowel. The length of the dowel determines how far the lamp extends from the wall. You can also adjust the height and angle of the lamp even as it maintains its position through cable tension. The custom print files that will be provided for you can be tailor fit to the specific configuration that you want. There’s also a custom manual that will guide you through the assembly process in case you prefer a step-by-step assistance rather than the fun of figuring it out yourself. You can also preview how the lamp will look in your space through an augmented reality (AR) view on your phone.

Ultimately, the Delta Lamp is more than just a functional object; it’s a bridge between traditional DIY craftsmanship and the possibilities of modern digital fabrication. It democratizes design, putting the power of creation directly into the hands of the user. By offering a customizable, self-assembled product, 1×1 Systems invites us to reconsider our relationship with the objects we surround ourselves with.Whether you’re a seasoned DIY enthusiast or simply someone looking to add a unique touch to your home, you will probably get at the very least, a rewarding and engaging experience.
