as i write this blog post there’s a windy winter storm brewing out at sea which i can see from my cottage. the white caps are in full force and i love this view. one of the perks of living by the beach is not just the sunny days, but the cozy indoor days, too and that’s put me in the mood for some modern rustic design today. i love a well-curated blend of vintage and new and the look has endless inspiration for me because you almost never finish decorating and instead just continue to add to the mix. i think it’s embracing the old with the brand new, whether it’s building on a modern sofa that you just bought and then adding to it with a collection of cozy printed throws (they look great folded in piles), or bringing home a treasured souvenir or piece of art from a special trip, a vintage-inspired but modern mix is always interesting and maybe most importantly — distinctly and so very personally you. the best, and the most unique look you can get!
