“Good Story, Great Design”— Mula Design Studio embodies this philosophy in its head office, where daily aspirations shape a healthy and dynamic work culture. Instead of a conventional office setup with numerous desks and meeting rooms, Mula Office embraces a blended environment that seamlessly integrates living, dining, research, meeting, working, and socializing spaces. This design fosters innovation, well-being, and collaboration, empowering employees to thrive in a space that supports both productivity and everyday inspiration. The office is located on the second floor of a mixed-use retail space, embracing its public nature with a design that is both translucent and intentionally obscure—allowing natural light to filter in while maintaining a soft, diffused atmosphere.
The entrance foyer serves as a transitional space, seamlessly connecting the outdoor balcony, meeting room, and main office area. A striking glass block wall floods the space with light, while a mirrored panel doubles as a concealed door leading to the meeting room. Upon entering, visitors are welcomed into a cozy dining area and self-service pantry, which flow effortlessly into the service area and a discussion lounge. Positioned behind the lounge, a dedicated material bar showcases a curated selection of interior and architectural materials, doubling as an experimental surface where designers can explore new forms and material possibilities. Further into the lounge, the space is bathed in abundant natural light, thanks to a floor-to-ceiling glass wall. In front of it, a built-in bench serves as a collaborative spot for discussions and brainstorming sessions. At the heart of the office, an open workspace houses the main workstations, maintaining a balance between functionality and openness. Despite the compact layout, cozy nooks are strategically placed in the corners, offering relaxed alternatives for focused work while enhancing the office’s hospitality-like atmosphere. The open workspace seamlessly connects to the meeting room, which also functions as a security buffer—separating the entrance foyer from the core working area.
Every element of the office reflects Mula’s belief in “Good Story, Great Design.” From its seamless spatial transitions to the thoughtful balance of openness and privacy, the design fosters a dynamic, inspiring, and human-centered work environment. By embracing natural light, versatile workspaces, and material experimentation, the office is more than just a place to work—it’s a living narrative that evolves with its people, shaping a culture of creativity, collaboration, and well-being.
