Uber now has bikes! but instead of hiring a driver — you steer these wheels all on your own. launching exclusively in san francisco — one of the first cities to offer Uber Bike — it’s now much more fun and easy it is to get from point A to point B — and one of the coolest parts? you’ll be tackling san francisco’s famously steep hills without breaking a sweat — because these bikes are easy-to-use electric assistbikes (aka e-bikes) provided by JUMP using your Uber app. you pick up your bike anywhere around san francisco, ride to your heart’s desire and drop it off at your end destination. Uber invited us to test out their cute red bikes and we decided to take one for a spin around one of san francisco’s true gems, beautiful golden gate park.

the Uber Bike is super accessible throughout the city and can be located via the Uber app, so the process is pretty seamless if you’ve already got an account, and easy to sign up if you don’t. mix up your spring commute and urban excursions by integrating an Uber Bike into your life and take one for a cruise around town — just open the app and grab a bike. not only are you getting around faster than most MUNI rides, you’re also adding exercise to your daily commute, and doing it super affordably.

and the bright red Uber Bike comes equipped with cute baskets, so packing a picnic was easy breezy. going shopping? no problem – load that basket up! we had a visitor in the park (meet mister pug!) so we gave him a ride, too. and the park is the perfect place to try out your riding skills since they close the roads on Sundays. This is when the major entrance to the park which is situated at JFK Drive, is shut down to cars and completely open to pedestrians and bikers. so grab your helmet, hop on your Uber Bike and visit the conservatory of flowers, the japanese tea garden, the stowe lake boat house, the museums — all by just riding your Uber Bike around. it’s a really great way to discover the city from a whole new perspective, and have a blast doing it!
