DENTON was tasked with delivering the Pets at Home team a functional space for their office in Handforth, England.

Pets at Home partnered with DENTON to optimise operations and enhance employee productivity, embarking on a journey to create a workspace that aligned seamlessly with their vision and values. The challenge was to meet the demands of a thriving retail business while embracing flexibility and agility.

Crafting a Dynamic and Pet-Friendly Environment
Through collaborative workshops, DENTON and the Pets at Home project team identified key highlights, including a dynamic and functional environment promoting collaboration, sustainability, and pet-friendly features. The space exuded a homely, fun, and inviting atmosphere, catering to both new and existing team members.

Making a Statement with a Bold Reception
DENTON designed a bold and bright reception area at the distribution centre, leaving a lasting impression on visitors and aligning with Pets at Home’s refreshed brand. The open-plan office featured agile workspaces with acoustic features, ensuring a harmonious environment for respite and collaboration. Strategically placed storage cupboards with integrated planters added privacy and a touch of greenery.

Seamless Communication and Versatile Spaces
Meeting rooms strategically positioned along the edges of the main office facilitated private meetings, equipped with audio-visual capabilities for seamless communication with remote staff and suppliers. Larger meeting rooms featured whiteboards, fostering collaborative work and brainstorming. The design included a dedicated library space, a playful social area, meeting booths for team discussions, and phone booths for private calls. A training room and facilities kitchen supported new staff members, doubling as an auditorium for company-wide meetings.

Embracing “Petiquette” in the Workspace
In line with Pets at Home’s values, DENTON’s adaptive design ensured a pet-friendly space that followed “Petiquette.” A closed-off kitchen area prevented wandering pets from entering and offered staff a dedicated space for lunch and socialising. Additionally, a separate pet kitchen provided designated areas for pets.

A Workspace that Exceeds Expectations
By merging efficiency, functionality, and a pet-friendly environment, Pets at Home’s new workspace exceeded expectations. Discover more about this remarkable project at DENTON’s website.
