For Qbuzz, Ditt Officemakers delivered a future-proof working environment of 2,200 m² in Utrecht, bringing together multiple locations while placing identity, collaboration and safety at its core.
A home for Qbuzz: connecting, working and meeting
Qbuzz brought several offices together in a single building, spread across three floors. The goal was to create a welcoming, home-like working environment where every employee immediately feels at ease and where the brand identity is clearly visible.
The design strengthens both new ways of working and the recognisability of Qbuzz. Open work floors encourage collaboration, while specific departments such as IT and Operations Control are designed according to their functional requirements. The existing building structure, including a distinctive curve on the third floor, formed the basis for a natural layout with two connected work wings. Meeting rooms are strategically positioned at the heart of the work floors, creating logical acoustic separation within the open office environment.
From brand experience to construction process
Qbuzz’s corporate identity has been fully translated into colour accents and signage throughout the interior. The brand is tangible across the entire building, expressed through a contemporary interpretation of the company’s colours. The pantry in the entrance area forms a real eye-catcher; thanks to folding walls, the space can be flexibly closed off and used for multiple purposes. Planters act as natural dividers on the work floor and enhance the home-like atmosphere.
Sustainability was not only reflected in the choice of materials, but also in the construction process. Ceiling tiles were reused and natural-based paint was applied. Building services installations represented a substantial part of the project budget and required careful coordination. Short communication lines and quick decision-making enabled the team to maintain momentum throughout the project.
