we’ve been off for a week or so in respect and support, and to allow black voices to not only rise up and be seen, but heard — loud and proud. while we’ve been pausing, i’ve also been thinking a lot about how i can continue to better support the black community and since it’s always my goal and literally my passion to share inspiring and uplifting stories with you, i want to actively highlight more black-owned businesses, bloggers, storytellers, designers, makers, and artists on this platform. i hope you’ll be as inspired by them as i have been in discovering them. some of these small businesses and artists we’ve shared with you before, and some i’ve only been recently introduced to via instagram and the accounts of other designers and bloggers i follow, and to that extent, i am so grateful.

I went down a serious rabbit hole of incredible design, art, styling, fashion (like and homewares (both vintage and new) from black-owned businesses the last few days as my commitment to share with you, and i have to say, it was mind-blowingly inspiring. i’m always seeking out great design to share with you and i’ve always been focused primarily on simply beautiful aesthetics, but i plan on actively seeking out diversity in design and sharing more of it here, as well as exploring how to keep supporting black lives to promote awareness and support their brands and especially small businesses. i think you’re going to find some design you’ll love and be excited to support when shopping, or simply seeking some amazing inspiration. this is just a small start and there’s much more to come.
