texture app makes summer reading easy. / sfgirlbybay

i have a magazine obsession. i know, i know — there are blogs now, but i still love a great magazine filled with inspiring editorial. there’s a brand new app that makes collecting my magazines a whole lot easier, less expensive and very transportable. it’s called texture and they invited me to give it a try — and i love it! the idea is that you can save a ton on individual magazine subscriptions by just subscribing to texture for a lot less money, and you can save all your fav magazines in one place. vogue, the new yorker, marie claire, vanity fair — all my personal favorites are available. i’m usually a vintage beach gear kinda girl, but i’ll be including this hi-tech addition to my summer accouterment — it’s much easier to bring my ipad or phone (you can have access on up to five devices per account!) loaded with texture to my beach bag than lug all those magazines.

one of the coolest things about texture is that you can also save specific, individual articles to your own collections — my very favorite feature. so you could, for instance, save your favorite travel articles from different magazines all in one place, or stash beauty tips to a collection — or save all your recipes in one easy cooking collection. any collection you can dream up — you can create. very cool! i created a collection on ‘weekend travel ideas’ from articles in sunset, and travel and leisure — the best of palm springs? yes, please.

another cool feature is that texture includes all back issues and digital content. and, i found the interface to be super simple and easy to navigate — give it a try, i think you’ll find you really like it as much as i do. happy easy summer reading!
