the june gloom as they like to call it in beach towns has rolled in and has me hunkered down under a cozy blanket as i write this, but i’m still inspired by the look a summery surf shack. nina Freudenberger’s book, Surf Shack: Laid-Back Living by the Water is still one of my all-time favorite design books (the hammock in the living room above is from her beautiful book) and i was just revisiting its pages looking for some summer inspiration for my own laguna cottage. it’s pretty black and white in here right now, but i think i’d like to add some summer color to it. i’ve ordered a couple of new art prints cool water by by Lee Alice H. Pablo, and evangeline vase by artist anna koeferl (just below) from one of my favorite decor shops, sunday shop in new orleans, as well as some new pottery to add to my collection. here’s a look at what else is inspiring me, and if you’re looking for more, follow my pinboard dedicated to all things surf shack.
