MoVe Architects designed and managed the delivery of a 2,600-square-meter workplace in Sofia for a technology company whose identity remains confidential. From contract signing to final handover, the entire project was completed within just seven months, bringing design, technical coordination, procurement, and construction into one integrated process.
The interior is defined by a bold use of color, material, and texture, creating a workplace with distinctly different atmospheres while maintaining a consistent architectural language throughout.
Two dominant color families – warm terracotta orange and cool blue – establish the identity of different zones. Rather than being applied only as accents, the colors extend across ceilings, walls, acoustic elements, storage, and furniture. This monochromatic approach creates immersive environments and provides an intuitive wayfinding system across the large 2,600-square-meter floorplate.
Against these stronger colors, the main workspaces use a deliberately restrained material palette. White workstations and cabinetry, soft grey flooring, natural wood finishes, black metal and abundant greenery create a neutral background that balances the more expressive architectural elements.
The exposed ceilings play an important role in the character of the office. Visible technical installations reinforce the contemporary, industrial quality of the workplace, while integrated lighting and suspended acoustic elements bring structure and visual rhythm overhead. Acoustic solutions become part of the interior itself – from large ceiling panels above open work areas to sculptural suspended elements and textured wall surfaces in meeting and informal spaces.
Natural wood introduces warmth throughout circulation, kitchen and social areas, creating a deliberate contrast with the exposed technical ceilings. Glass partitions maintain visual connectivity and daylight, while planting is used as a softer spatial divider between working neighborhoods.
The workplace offers a variety of settings beyond the traditional desk: open-plan work areas, meeting rooms, phone and focus booths, informal collaboration spaces, lounges and social zones. Materials and colors subtly change between them, giving each area its own identity while keeping the overall design coherent.
A key challenge was the seven-month programme from appointment to completion. With MoVe Architects responsible for both Interior Design and Project Management, design development, technical coordination, procurement and construction could progress in parallel, allowing decisions to be implemented quickly while maintaining control over quality and the original design concept.
The result is a workplace where color is architecture, materials create identity, and technical performance becomes part of the design – delivered within an exceptionally compressed timeframe.
