Dthree was engaged by Tenzing to design a dynamic office for different functionalities in London, England.

Tenzing appointed Dthree to design their new larger space within their current building. The reason they stayed within the building was because that was the best fit for their people, which meant that the design and planning had to be carefully considered to maximise the space efficiently. Following the pandemic, Tenzing were shifting to a new hybrid way of working, and therefore wanted to provide their team with more choice over how they used their environment. To ensure their workplace supported this, we created a number of ‘drop in’ areas and high quality ‘zoom’ rooms, as well as plenty of flexible, soft and collaborative working areas.

The nature of the split building lended itself to almost two halves of their business, the front of house client hosting side, and the open plan people focused side. It was key that the design was seamless and consistent throughout, with high quality materials and detailing at both ends, but a slight distinction in appearance so the two were visually separated.

The technical detailing of this project was one that evolved constantly over our time on site. As the strip out of the previous fit out and lowering of the floor were complete, challenges and obstacles slowly revealed themselves, which meant that detailing and coordination had to be more organic than traditional projects, with technical design solutions being constantly developed on site.

The wow factor on arrival was created by a fully bespoke bar/teapoint area, which acts both as a social hub for staff, and a bar for external events. The space boosts a bespoke booth and pops of brand colour throughout the decoration and furniture.

In the staff focused side of the space, the entire floor was lowered to provide them with more head height to make it a more comfortable and appealing space to be within. This in turn allowed us to create a bespoke bleacher team area, with warm timber finishes, fully integrated AV and bespoke tiered seating with lockers and storage. The open plan area is bright and airy, with cosy quiet working drop in spots purposely split and hidden between areas.

The large majority of this project was bespoke in nature, which meant that the space has a truly unique aesthetic and functionality, which really proudly displays Tenzing’s ethos as disruptive.
