In a cultural landscape where wellness has shifted from luxury to necessity, The Commons is setting a new precedent. This September, the leading co-working space provider unveils its first-ever Health Club in Richmond, Melbourne – an expansive hybrid of gym, studio, bathhouse and, of course, a co-working space – that reframes wellness as a daily essential rather than a niche pursuit. A second Health Club in South Yarra will follow in January 2026, cementing The Commons’ ambition to reshape the city’s wellness conversation.

At over 5,000 square metres, the Richmond location – aptly-named The Commons Health Club – brings together fitness, recovery and community under one roof. The gym floor, equipped with design-led machinery, sits alongside purpose-built studios offering more than 20 class styles – ranging from hot mat pilates and candlelit yin to rebounding and sound healing – delivering over 200 classes each week.

The Commons’ approach is grounded in accessibility and relevance: a space where longevity treatments – red light therapy, lymphatic compression, infrared saunas – stand alongside traditional saunas, magnesium-infused baths and ice plunge rituals. The bathhouse experience, complete with candlelit sessions and community-led sound baths, fosters a sense of collective resilience and emotional release.

Wellness here is both science and ritual, from cutting-edge assessments and signature personal training sessions to daily practices that prioritise health and performance. Elevated amenities – cold eucalyptus towels post-sauna, a perfume and cologne bar, private laundry service, and a wellness concierge – reinforce the club’s commitment to a holistic experience that transcends the ordinary.

At The Commons café, organic smoothies are served alongside opportunities for social connection, while bathhouse socials, DJ sets and live music create a tapestry of events that invite members to engage in wellness as a lifestyle, not an afterthought.

The Commons Health Club is a new lexicon of wellbeing – where performance and community merge, and where wellness is no longer a juggernaut, but a daily practice woven into the fabric of contemporary life.
