
these sweet chairs are not all alike. they’re a kind of hybrid jean prouvé meets industrial schoolhouse chair. they all have different makers, but i love the overall vibe of every single one of them. what they have in common is that metal base and very often a wood or upholstered seat. i’m not sure which came first — the schoolhouse chairs, or did those mimic the style of jean prouvé? perhaps they tried to class up the classroom so to speak. but whatever the case, you can find these kinds of chairs all over if you like the look. we have a few vintage versions at and carries them as well. for new chairs, have a look at and . many of these chairs stack, too so they’re handy for extra seating. they make for great desk chairs, and even better dining room chairs — and by all means, mix and match!
